While many model railroaders started the hobby with the traditional Lionel circle of track, I started building models (airplanes, tanks, ships, and cars) fairly young. I also write occasional articles for MRH on modeling tools and subjects too specialized for use in a monthly column. I pair up with four other modelers (Marty McGuirk, Mike Rose, Tony Thompson, and Nick Muff) to write a column in each issue of MRH on different aspects of prototype modeling. There is also a free, online magazine called Model Railroad Hobbyist or simply MRH. Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman magazines are good sources of general information.
